Where I’ve been and where that’s taking me

My name is Lily and this is my first blog and public media page. I hope to gain more experience through this blog with multi-media skills and confidence in sharing my own interests and ideas. I have decided to make my first blog a place for anyone looking for new and healthy recipes. 

I have been very fortunate to have traveled to several countries and been able to explore my adventure and love for food. I have always been drawn to trying new things and sharing them with others, hence the inspiration for this blog. 

My favorite places I have been to are South Korea and Japan. I love sushi and any dish packed with vegetables, and there are a lot of these foods in South Korea and Japan. Some of my favorite dishes from these countries include bibimbap, hoe-deopbap, kimchi jjigae, kani salad and all things sushi and sashimi. 

I began looking for “healthier” recipes when I started to experience my own medical challenges and had to watch what I was eating. Through the process of researching and trying these recipes I started to realize how important it is to be mindful of what I am putting in my body. I began to really prioritize my health while still trying recipes that I enjoy. 

I very quickly started to notice changes in my mood, energy levels and my physical appearance. This was all because I began implementing foods with a higher nutritional value. 

I still enjoy a deluxe quarter-pounder here and there but overall, I have learned that prioritizing clean eating has changed me in ways I didn’t even think would be related to food. With this, I thought to myself “why not share this with others?”. 

One of the best feelings is showing a new idea to another and they enjoy it just as much as you or that person gaining benefit from what you have shared with them. With that, I hope these recipes and the information I share about them help others in their journey through cleaner eating, trying new things or just plain curiosity of what they can find here on my page. 

I also understand that “healthy” eating means something different to everyone. To some that is more vegetables, some that is more protein and others focus on how many calories they consume each day. None of these are wrong but I intend to have different focuses with each recipe while always aiming to share something that will benefit someone in one way or another.
